QA Associate​/Analyst

Job Description

Onset Technologies is seeking a QA Associate / Analyst 3 to support enterprise software testing initiatives for HHSC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing manual and automated test scripts, validating requirements through traceability matrices, and supporting testing across development, test, and UAT environments.

This role requires strong expertise in test planning, defect management, API testing, SQL data validation, and automation testing, along with the ability to collaborate with Agile development teams, business stakeholders, and QA teams to ensure applications meet quality and performance standards.

• Investigate and diagnose software quality issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain manual and automated test scripts for enterprise applications.
• Write and execute test plans, test cases, and testing scenarios based on business and system requirements.
• Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices (RTM) to ensure complete testing coverage.
• Prepare User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test cases, align them with business requirements, and conduct walkthroughs with stakeholders.
• Track test case execution, maintain documentation, and provide testing progress reports.
• Log, categorize, prioritize, and track defects using Jira and other defect management tools.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, SOAPUI, JMeter, or similar tools.
• Validate system data using SQL queries and database analysis.
• Perform various testing types including unit, integration, regression, smoke, system, performance, and user acceptance testing.
• Coordinate UAT schedules and testing readiness activities, providing recommendations for go/no-go decisions.
• Support development teams across development, testing, and UAT environments and assist in troubleshooting defects.
• Work closely with Agile Scrum teams to deliver high-quality software releases within sprint timelines.
• Maintain accurate test documentation, reporting, and time tracking for testing activities.

• 8+ years of experience writing and executing test cases and creating test plans.
• 8+ years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• 8+ years of experience with software usability concepts and requirements traceability.
• 8+ years of experience using Xray Test Case Management Tool.
• 8+ years of experience writing SQL queries to perform CRUD operations and data validation.
• 8+ years of experience performing API testing using Postman, SOAPUI, JMeter, or similar tools.
• 8+ years of experience developing and executing test automation scripts using UFT.
• Experience using Jira for defect tracking and management.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines for testing automation processes.

• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Experience creating or reviewing performance testing scripts and analyzing test results.
• Experience working with State of Texas agencies or Texas Health and Human Services systems.

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must be local to Austin, TX.
