Our government client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Analyst on an onsite, 3+ month renewable contract opportunity in Austin, TX.

Gather, analyze, and document user requirements, business processes, and system issues to support automation initiatives and improvements to existing applications. Elicit and document business needs for new system development and translate requirements into well‑defined user stories.

• Create comprehensive user stories, define clear acceptance criteria, and conduct manual testing, including mobile application testing. Develop wireframes to support intuitive, user‑centered design and collaborate closely with stakeholders to validate requirements and gather feedback on solutions.
• Participate in or lead Agile ceremonies: backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
• Provide guidance to development teams by answering questions on user stories and serving as the interface between developers and stakeholders.
• Perform quality assurance (QA) reviews of user stories to ensure acceptance criteria, non‑functional requirements, and overall readiness are fully met.
• Coordinate and guide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with business stakeholders, ensuring timely sign‑off and documenting additional work items for backlog consideration.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation and assist in preparing proposals for new system enhancements.
• Provide consultation on application analysis, troubleshoot system issues, and recommend effective solutions.

Years of Experience

Required:

• Agile methodologies, user story creation; experience functioning as a Business Analyst on an Agile team; participation in all Agile ceremonies; and leading Refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Standup, and Retrospective sessions.
• Proficiency with Azure Dev Ops, Jira, or similar Agile project management tools.
• Experience performing highly complex (senior‑level) business analysis work.
• Ability to work under limited supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
• Experience performing QA reviews of user stories to ensure acceptance criteria, non‑functional requirements, and overall readiness are fully met.
• Experience coordinating and guiding UAT activities with business stakeholders, ensuring timely sign‑off and documenting additional work items for backlog consideration.
• Experience identifying opportunities to improve business processes through automation and preparing proposals and/or wireframes for new systems.
• Experience consulting on application analysis, troubleshooting system problems, and implementing solutions.
