This Business Analyst III position focuses primarily on solution validation and testing leadership, including test planning, UAT coordination, requirements traceability and defect management for vendor‑supported implementations. Successful candidates will be skilled in developing comprehensive test strategies, detailed test plans, test cases and traceability documentation to ensure full requirements coverage. Proven expertise coordinating and facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), managing test cycles, and overseeing defect tracking processes.
Deep knowledge of software testing methodologies including functional, regression, integration and UAT testing with a solid understanding of system integrations, data mapping, workflow validation and requirements management. Adept at using requirement and test management tools, applying structured change control practices, and leveraging strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify root causes and assess business impact.
This is the fourth in a series of four business‑analyst‑related job classifications within the Information Technology job family. It provides moderately complex to complex technical consulting and support services for defining, developing and improving functional or business processes to meet user and organizational needs. The Business Analyst III performs complex IT functions and may perform computer hardware and software installation, network administration and database management within a department.
This classification may require a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of the department.
- Experience leading testing for vendor‑implemented solutions
- Ability to create detailed test plans, test cases, and traceability documentation
- Experience coordinating and leading UAT
- Expertise in software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration UAT)
- Solid understanding of system integrations, data mapping, and workflow validation.
- Proficiency with requirement and test management tools
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and assess business impact
- Ability to manage test cycles and defect tracking efforts
- Provides moderately complex to complex technical consulting and support services for defining, developing, and improving functional or business processes to meet user and organizational needs. Works with stakeholders and staff to define problems and management requirements.
- Solicits and interprets client requests, documents client needs and automated procedures and works with users to improve business processes. Proposes alternatives appropriate within the broader context of County Information Technology and other operations and technology.
- Develop Business Workflow Process using Business Process Modeling Notation 2.0 (BPMN 2.0).
- Resolves day‑to‑day technology needs of the department with a focus on the analysis of processes, dissecting problems, and suggesting solutions.
- Reviews business processes, analyzes existing procedures and systems, and makes recommendations for improvements.
