Linux Software and Security Engineer

We are building a Debian-based Linux distribution engineered for high performance, reliability, and enterprise-class security. We are looking for a Linux Software and Security Engineer to help us evolve and harden the platform from the kernel up.

• Experience: 6+ years in Linux engineering, software development, or distribution maintenance.
• Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Linux Internals: Deep understanding of the Linux OS;
  Debian experience is required
  .
• Programming: Proficiency in systems languages (C/C++ or Rust
  ) and scripting (
  Python, Bash
  ).
• Security Frameworks: Familiarity with STIG, CIS, FIPS 140-x, or NIST 800-53
  .
• Low-Level Security:
  
  Experience with
  Secure Boot, UEFI, TPM, and key signing.
• Location: Must reside in the Greater Austin, TX area and be able to work on-site as required.

• Experience contributing to Debian or other major open-source communities.
• Knowledge of Debian packaging tools
  .
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and secure pipelines (Git Lab CI).
• Understanding of kernel security features (App Armor, SELinux).
• Experience with cryptographic libraries (OpenSSL, GnuTLS) and PKI.
• Knowledge of cloud-native tech:
  Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
