Oracle Fusion Architect - Advisory

Role Overview

Provide senior-level architectural insight to evaluate proposed Oracle Fusion ERP Phase 2 and ongoing enhancements for feasibility, technical risk, and organizational readiness. The architect forecasts time, cost, and skill requirements for each planned improvement so the client can make informed prioritization and budgeting decisions. Acts as the technical authority and governance expert.

Key Responsibilities (Advisory Focus)

Architectural Governance

Evaluation and governance to set priorities regarding business needs and requirements. Provide governance oversight on adherence to Oracle Fusion best practices and guardrails; ensure the client's development partners follow sustainable architecture principles.

Technical Evaluation & Impact

Understanding of process integrations/adjustments required for new implementation. Develop impact assessments for proposed features: estimate configuration complexity, integration dependencies, and support requirements. Continuously monitor Oracle product roadmaps and quarterly upgrades to proactively identify the impact of future changes and determine valuable technical opportunities. Participate in enhancement reviews to assess technical implications of requests (e.g., P-Cards, Leasing Model, Redwood 2026 updates). Prepare executive briefings summarizing upcoming Oracle releases, features, and potential impacts on financial processes.

Scope & Cost Advisory

Program definition and implementation. Provide technical guidance to the client's developers on complex implementation aspects, such as Bank Integration API design and data migration strategies. Define technical scope and provide effort estimates for integration changes required by the Phase 2 enhancements. Contribute to skills-planning: advise client which technical capabilities (integration, reporting, data management) will be needed and when.

Design Integrity

Ensure the integrity of the overall ERP solution design, promoting standardization and providing recommendations to minimize customizations that would increase maintenance burden. Advise on sequencing and dependencies across modules and systems (financials, procurement, banking, data management). Conduct technical risk assessments before major changes or upgrades.

Maturity Model

Evaluation of impact on maturity advancement. Assist in definition of next phase of maturity potential - oracle foci vs. business need foci. Collaborate with the Functional Lead and Project Manager to refine two-year maturity roadmap-linking system improvements to the maturity model levels.

Expected Skills & Experience
7+ years in ERP architecture, including 5+ years in Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials (GL, AP, AR, Procurement, Assets).
Technical expertise in Oracle Fusion Financials and Procurement (P2P), including the underlying technical framework, API gateway, and integration methodologies (e.g., FBDI, web services).
Specific experience sourcing (RFx), Procurement Contracts and Project Accounting
Understanding of Oracle's integration frameworks (OIC, REST/SOAP, BICC), workflow configuration, and reporting stack (OTBI, BI Publisher).
Ability to translate technical complexity into business impact language.
Experience in ERP program governance, cost estimation, and roadmap planning.
Familiarity with system maturity models, continuous-improvement cycles, and enterprise data management.
Ability to track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs.
Strong skills in advisory capacity-influencing client and vendor decisions without direct authority.
Strong communication skills-ability to brief non-technical personnel on technical solutions.
