Job Description
- The SAP Basis Consultant will be a key member of the Technical Delivery SAP Basis team, responsible for ensuring operational excellence across SAP landscapes.
- This role involves system administration, cloud migration support, incident and problem management, patching, monitoring, and collaboration with support partners to maintain high system availability and performance.
- Provide operational support for SAP Basis, Solution Manager, Monitoring, Portal, and DB2 databases.
- Support Unix shell scripting and infrastructure-related activities as needed.
- Assess operational quality of SAP Basis support partners, identify gaps, and drive closure actions.
- Lead and support Major Incident Management activities ensuring timely resolution.
- Perform effective error trend analysis and problem management.
- Evaluate SAP OSS notes for operational relevance and applicability.
- Ensure SAP functional and technical best practices during incident and problem resolution.
- Conduct system health audits and report findings to the Basis Team Lead.
- Plan and manage patching, upgrades, and system update activities.
- Conduct weekly operational reviews with the support partner Basis team.
- Provide technical feasibility assessments for alternative incident and problem solutions.
- 8+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration.
- Strong expertise in SAP HANA, SAP SLT, SAP Celonis, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Experience with cloud integration technologies including APIs, Gateway, SSL, SAML, and OAuth authentication methods.
- Hands-on experience with DB2 databases.
- Experience in SAP monitoring, system audits, and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Proven cloud migration experience in SAP Basis environments.
- SAP migration to Azure experience with Data Services (DS) and SAP Business Objects (BOBJ) expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive SAP Basis and infrastructure experience in enterprise environments.
