This hybrid position will work remotely as well as onsite in our Austin, TX office.

Overview

The Senior Business Operations and Intelligence Analyst is a strategic partner and technical expert who drives data informed decision making, operational excellence, and cross functional visibility across Legal Zoom. This role blends advanced analytics, BI development, data modeling, and operational insight generation to support Sales and Customer Success while incorporating insights from GTM partners such as Marketing, Product, and Finance. You will lead complex analysis, build scalable and governed reporting systems, define KPIs, translate ambiguous business questions into clear insights, and strengthen Legal Zoom’s analytical foundation through improved data models, higher data quality, and broader data literacy.

This role requires strong technical expertise, sound business judgment, and the ability to turn complex questions into structured analytical recommendations.

You will
  • Design and maintain advanced analytics solutions using SQL, Python, and BI tools such as Hex, Thought Spot, Tableau, Power

    BI, and PPro to surface trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build and optimize analytics layer data models and scalable data pipelines to support governed reporting and strategic analysis.
  • Develop, automate, and maintain dashboards, KPI frameworks, and performance reporting that provide clear visibility into business health.
  • Implement data transformation workflows using SQL, Python, or similar tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high data quality.
  • Partner with cross functional teams across Sales, CX, Marketing, Product, Finance, Engineering, Care, and Fulfillment to define metrics, gather requirements, and deliver insights that drive decision making.
  • Conduct statistical and strategic analysis, including lifecycle analytics, segmentation, predictive modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning.
  • Perform operational diagnostics to identify friction, inefficiencies, and root causes and support teams in implementing and measuring improvements.
  • Translate complex or ambiguous questions into structured analytical approaches and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Document metric definitions, data logic, data models, and analytical methodologies to support transparency and reproducibility.
  • Support data governance by collaborating with data engineering on pipelines, data quality, data accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Legal Zoom’s analytics stack and cloud data warehouse infrastructure such as Snowflake or Big Query.
  • Present analytical findings and insights to executive, operational, and cross functional audiences.
  • Mentor junior analysts and help promote a culture of data literacy and continuous improvement.

You have
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, business intelligence, analytics, or a related field, with a proven track record of driving business outcomes through data.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for analysis, transformation, automation, and modeling.
  • Hands‑on experience with BI and analytics tools such as Hex, Thought Spot, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to design KPI frameworks, automate dashboards, and standardize reporting for executive and operational audiences.
  • Proficiency with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or Big Query and familiarity with ETL tools such as Fivetran and core data quality practices.
