We’re seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on professional to join our team as a Hardware Integration Technician (Autonomous Systems) at a fast-growing autonomous vehicle company in Austin, TX.

This role places you at the heart of our mission, where you’ll assemble, install, and maintain the complex computing and sensor systems that power our autonomous platforms. Responsibilities & Daily Expectations

In this role, you’ll be hands-on with the hardware that powers our autonomous systems. Daily activities include:

  • Building and installing computer systems, sensors, and peripheral modules into vehicles.

  • Diagnosing and repairing hardware issues, including cables, sensors, and computing modules.

  • Swapping out and upgrading CPUs, GPUs, RAM, SSDs, and sensor modules as needed.

  • Managing clean and functional internal cabling (USB, Ethernet, CAN, power, video).

  • Assisting with BIOS/UEFI configuration and driver installation.

  • Testing system functionality and ensuring reliable, ESD-safe builds.

  • Collaborating with engineers, mechanics, and software teams to integrate and optimize hardware systems.

Requirements & Qualifications for Success

This full-time, ongoing contract role is based in Austin, TX. Candidates must be local as this is an onsite position.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience assembling, upgrading, and troubleshooting computer hardware (desktops, laptops, or similar systems).

  • Comfort with basic electronics repair, including replacing screens, batteries, and logic boards.

  • Familiarity with sensors, peripherals, and wiring standards (USB, Ethernet, CAN, power, video).

  • Precision assembly skills and a high standard for build quality and neatness.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and basic system-level debugging.

  • Knowledge of electrical safety and ESD protection practices.

  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience soldering or repairing mobile electronics (e.g., iPhones, tablets, drones).

  • Familiarity with Linux installation and configuration.

  • Automotive or electric vehicle (EV) experience.
