Job Description:
The Quality Assurance Analyst (Systems Analyst V) is responsible for driving the development, implementation, and maintenance of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) best practices and methodologies across the organization. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality software solutions by defining and maintaining test strategies and plans, developing and executing automated and manual tests, and tracking key QA metrics.
Working under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for independent judgment, the Systems Analyst V coordinates closely with program teams, developers, and project managers to facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support project delivery. The role involves both back-end and front-end testing for various applications, as well as performing exploratory testing in Agile/Scrum environments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
The position serves as a quality leader, providing guidance, mentorship, and training to team members, fostering collaboration, and maintaining strong communication channels with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders. Additionally, the Systems Analyst V creates and maintains advanced QA documentation, test execution reports, and dashboards, while continuously recommending process improvements to enhance software quality and delivery efficiency.
This position reports to the QA Lead in Health and Human Services Commission Information Technology (HHSC IT).
Must be willing to work from an HHS office designated by the hiring manager, 3 or more days per week, located in Austin, TX.
