The Role
AMD is committed to delivering an exceptional, end-to-end customer experience. Ease of use, clarity, and strong technical enablement are core to how our customers succeed with AMD technologies. As a Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) within the Software Product Management organization for AMD’s Data Center GPU Business Unit, you will play a critical role in shaping the customer journey—from first technical engagement and education through successful deployment and optimization of AMD data center GPU solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Create, curate, and maintain a comprehensive library of technical content—including manuals, user guides, application notes, tutorials, READMEs, and best-practice documentation—for AMD data center GPU solutions with a focus on HPC and AI for science.
- Translate complex GPU hardware and software capabilities into clear, actionable guidance and real-world customer scenarios that strengthen product positioning and adoption.
- Stay current with GPU architectures, software stacks, and ecosystem developments to ensure all content reflects the latest capabilities and enhancements.
- Work with AMD architects, product managers and product marketing to develop and publish technical whitepapers for AMD’s Instinct GPUs.
- Design and deliver high-impact technical training for internal teams (e.g., FAEs, solutions engineers) and external audiences (OEMs, ODMs, customers) through virtual, in-person, and self-paced formats.
- Develop hands-on demonstrations, sample workflows, and reference implementations that showcase AMD data center GPUs in real-world HPC and AI applications.
- Build deep empathy for the challenges faced by solutions architects and engineers deploying AMD GPUs, and create documentation that proactively removes barriers to adoption.
- Actively gather and incorporate feedback from customers, field teams, and internal technical experts to continuously improve content quality and relevance.
- Lead by example in documentation excellence, mentoring and influencing peers to raise the overall quality, consistency, and effectiveness of technical materials.
- Communicate with clarity, integrity, and transparency across written, verbal, and visual formats.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience running, tuning, or optimizing HPC or AI workloads on GPU-accelerated systems at scale.
- Direct customer-facing experience in high-tech environments, including HPC, AI, OEMs, or cloud service providers.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality educational and explanatory content that simplifies complex GPU, performance, and software concepts.
- Hands-on experience with GPUs, FPGAs, or other accelerators, and familiarity with performance-critical APIs and platforms such as ROCm, HIP, CUDA, or OpenCL.
- Strong understanding of machine learning (training and inference), HPC workloads, numerical methods, or algorithms.
- Practical experience with data science and machine learning tools such as PyTorch, JAX, Pandas, or similar frameworks.
- Proven experience delivering technical presentations, workshops, or participating in industry conferences, meetups, or hackathons.
- Expertise in modern documentation and publishing workflows, including Markdown, Read the Docs, and Jupyter Notebooks.
- Proficiency with standard productivity and publishing tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat) used for technical documentation and training delivery.
