Performs complex (journey-level) systems administration work. Work involves creating, removing and maintaining account permissions and access controls for all the agency’s systems and applications. Ensures the accurate authentication and authorization for end-users based on agency policies and procedures, coordinates access management with external state systems, and facilitating and troubleshooting user access issues. Collaborates with information technology teams located at the agency’s secure correctional facilities, the agency’s Central Office, and other state IT departments.

Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per workweek, be on-call, and travel.

Creates, modifies, and disables user accounts for the agency’s internal and external systems, applications, and remote access based on submitted and approved access requests. Evaluates access roles, and permissions to identify potential conflicts and risks. Coordinates with access requestor, supervisor and/or data owner, as necessary, to resolve issues with the request.

Conducts periodic audits of accounts and access by creating user access report to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures. Ensures timely removal or modification of access based upon termination listings, emergency requests and change requests. Escalates any access issues to IT management and/or system owner.
