Overview
Our client, a leading organization in the technology and hardware industry, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join their team. As a Lab Technician, you will be an integral part of the Hardware Validation Department supporting global validation efforts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, aligning successfully within a dynamic and innovative environment.
Job Title: Lab Technician
Location: Austin, TX
- Assemble and perform functional tests on newly designed and incoming hardware boards, including installing sockets, processors, heat sinks, and HDDs to ensure operational functionality.
- Track the status of tested hardware and coordinate delivery to end users locally, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
- Coordinate global shipping and inventory logistics for boards, hardware, and ASICs, supporting various validation teams worldwide.
- Utilize protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues efficiently.
- Assist in setting up systems and infrastructure for silicon validation, including imaging HDDs with Windows or Linux images and supporting lab duties as needed.
- AS/BS Degree in Computer Engineering/Technology or equivalent training with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in computer hardware, software, and PC architecture, with the ability to debug boards and perform moderate soldering.
- Working knowledge of all Windows operating systems;
Linux experience is a plus. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal English.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PC hardware and software, with experience in motherboard architecture and system assembly.
