Based out of our Austin, TX office and requires in-office presence three days a week.

Position Summary

Trend Micro is seeking a highly skilled Staff Full-Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain modern web applications and services that power our security solutions for strategic customers.

You’ll work across the complete technology stack, from frontend user interfaces to backend APIs and cloud infrastructure, while partnering closely with development, product, and customer success teams to drive seamless feature delivery, customization, and ongoing product enhancement.

We’re looking for experienced full-stack web developers who leverage AI-powered development tools and practices to accelerate their workflows and create intelligent applications. Strong networking fundamentals are essential as you’ll work with distributed systems, implement secure communication protocols, and optimize network performance for our security solutions. From creating web applications with AI-enhanced features to implementing automated development pipelines, you’ll combine proven software engineering practices with innovative AI tooling to deliver exceptional results.

This role requires excellent communication skills as you’ll interact with customers to understand their technical requirements, present web-based solutions, and guide implementation strategies. Occasional travel to customer sites within North America may be required to provide hands‑on support and consultation.

Responsibilities
  • Deeply analyze customer environments and challenges to architect and deliver tailored security solutions.
  • Lead on‑site implementations, including code-level customizations and advanced configurations.
  • Orchestrate Trend Micro technologies into optimized, scalable solution stacks for maximum impact.
  • Rapidly prototype and deploy diverse solutions to address evolving customer needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering leads to refine deployment methodologies and contribute to product roadmaps.
  • Maintain expertise in emerging cybersecurity trends to pioneer innovative customer outcomes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, with proven customer-facing deployments
  • Full-stack development proficiency (e.g., JavaScript/Type Script with React; backend in Node.js, Python, Go, or Java)
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and TCP/IP, including SSL, DNS, and DHCP
  • Familiarity with routing, addressing, and network services
  • Familiarity with Network security concepts
  • Hands‑on experience analyzing network traffic using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, or ethereal
  • Proficiency with AI-integrated IDEs (e.g., Claude Code, VS Code with Copilot)
  • Effectively prompt LLMs using efficient prompting techniques to accelerate boilerplate reduction, refactoring, and testing
  • Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for connecting LLMs to external data sources is a major plus
  • Willingness to travel for client engagements or project collaborations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to mentor junior engineers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced SQL/data modeling and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • CI/CD pipeline expertise (Jenkins, Git Lab CI).
  • Experience leading cross‑functional projects or technical consultations
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and teamwork in fast‑paced environments
