PosgresSQL DBA

• Administer and optimize high‑volume Postgre
  
  SQL systems (including Cloud SQL) in highly available environments.
• Design and own Terraform modules for GCP databases:
  Cloud SQL (Postgre
  
  SQL), Memory store (Redis/Valkey), Alloy
  
  DB, Spanner, and Big Query.
• Manage large transactional replication with low‑latency delivery; use Big Query as a replication target and tune performance/cost.
• Implement database changes via IaC (Terraform with Git Hub PRs) following performance, security, and reliability best practices.
• Establish backup/restore, PITR, HA/failover testing, DR runbooks, and an overall database support plan.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on schema reviews, query optimization, and Big Query governance.
• Handle security and audit tasks; respond to support requests and data change needs promptly.
• Support incident response and participate in on‑call rotations (including off‑hours, Central Time) and scheduled maintenance such as patching, large data scripts, VLDB index work, and DR testing.

• 8+ years of prior work experience
• Experience in administering and optimizing Postgre
  
  SQL Server environments, including expertise in transactional replication.
• Experience with GCP Cloud
  
  SQL Postgre
  
  SQL and knowledge of Postgre
  
  SQL database management.
• Experience in Memory store for Redis, Alloy
  
  DB, Spanner and Big Query preferred.
• Experience with other cloud-based database technologies or platforms, such as Azure SQL or AWS RDS, preferred.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and version control systems like Git Hub for managing database infrastructure changes.
• Experience with high-availability architectures, disaster recovery planning, and execution.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in Memory store for Redis, Alloy
  
  DB, Spanner and Big Query preffered.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database systems, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with Dev Ops methodologies, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of GCP Big Query, including performance tuning and administrative capabilities.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting knowledge for automation.
• Willingness to provide on-call and off-hours technical support as required.

$70-$80 per hour for the 12 month contract duration
