Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Senior DBA to support a growing Fin Tech client. This role focuses on building, operating, and optimizing high‑volume, highly available databases in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate has strong Postgre

SQL expertise, experience with GCP‑managed databases, and a Dev Ops mindset with a focus on automation, reliability, and scalability.

• Administer and optimize high‑volume Postgre
  
  SQL systems in highly available GCP environments (Cloud SQL, Alloy
  
  DB).
• Design, build, and maintain Terraform modules for GCP databases:
  Cloud SQL (Postgres), Memory store (Redis/Valkey), Alloy
  
  DB, Spanner, and Big Query.
• Manage large‑scale replication with low‑latency delivery, including Big Query as a replication target.
• Own backup/restore, PITR, HA/failover testing, disaster recovery, and database support plans.
• Partner with engineering teams on schema design, query optimization, and Big Query governance.
• Support security, auditing, incident response, and on‑call rotations (Central Time), including maintenance and DR testing.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise with Postgre
  
  SQL; familiarity with cloud-based database systems, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Cloud
  
  SQL.
• Expertise in Memory store for Redis, Alloy
  
  DB, Spanner and Big Query.
• Familiarity with Dev Ops methodologies, Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of GCP Big Query, including performance tuning and administrative capabilities.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting knowledge for automation.
• Willingness to provide on-call and off-hours technical support as required.
