Engineer, Hardware Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience racking, cabling, configuring, and troubleshooting server hardware to be considered for this role .

Rate Range: $35/hour to $37/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Rack, cable, build, configure, and provision servers in a data-center environment.
• Deploy and connect Cisco Layer-2 networking equipment following proper port mapping and cabling standards.
• Troubleshoot, test, and perform quality assurance on server hardware to ensure optimal functionality.
• Resolve hardware issues professionally through ticketing systems and follow established escalation procedures.
• Maintain adherence to safety protocols while performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting equipment and working on ladders.
• Support operating system installations (Windows Server, Linux, Unix) and assist with basic networking and RAID-related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 6-8 years of hands-on experience in hardware, server operations, or data-center environments.
• Must be able to work in the country without sponsorship and demonstrate strong foundational computer hardware knowledge.
• Must be willing to learn quickly, multitask, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding data-center setting.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $37.00 per hour
