Just Walk Out builds technology enables a new kind of stores with no lines and no checkout—you just grab and go! Customers simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the store, take what they want from our selection of fresh, delicious meals and grocery essentials, and go!

Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a online cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we’ll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt. Our Just Walk Out Technology uses a variety of technologies including vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning.

Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the Just Walk Out team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap and development of product features from beginning to end. You will work with cross-functional teams to help solve complex business problems and design innovative solutions that enable seamless checkout-free shopping experiences. Your responsibilities include designing, implementing, testing, deploying and maintaining innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.

You will write high-quality distributed system software and work in an agile environment where development cycles are measured in weeks. The role involves collaborating with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
You will help build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage. Working in this role, you will contribute to a technology that enables shoppers to simply enter a store, grab what they want, and leave without traditional checkout lines.
