Based in Austin, Texas, Sky Grid builds ground based high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of highly automated and autonomous aircraft. Sky Grid also acts a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services.

Sky Gridis seeking a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer with Automation experience to support our IT infrastructure team. This role will focus on the deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, cloud-based applications within AWS, and solutions with limited on-premise environments. This person will play a key role in building out and defining the AWS environment with some focus on Azure configurations, supporting the backbone of our infrastructure, and adopting industry best-practices to ensure operational efficiency, security, and compliance.

Performance

Objectives
  • Adopt a least-privilege approach to AWS IAM by removing unnecessary access from existing users and roles. Account monitoring and ongoing review.
  • Audit and perform remediation for non-compliant resources based on NIST, ISO, and SOC2 frameworks.
  • Support upcoming simulation activities with the FAA and our partners.
  • Build and lead aCCoE(Cloud Center of Excellence), primarily focused on aligning our teams with existing cybersecurity frameworks and practices.
  • Streamline ourPulumi

    IaC by adopting a function-based approach to deployments.
  • Help deploy and maintain our corporate and program Disaster Recovery Plan.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with IT, Dev Ops, and Engineering teams to architect, provision, and maintain corporate and program solutions.
  • Manage our cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker), configure and optimize CI/CD pipelines, and automate provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (Pulumi, Cloud Formation, Terraform).
  • Manage, audit, and harden/secure cloud and on-premise resources.
  • Support simulations for validation of aerospace autonomy functions.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, document workflows, and handle controlled information (CUI/ITAR).
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of IT/Dev Ops engineering experience, with a strong focus on security.
  • AWScertifications: AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer, AWS Certified Sys Ops Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools (Pulumi, Cloud Formation, Terraform) in Production environments.
  • Experience with common AWS services (VPC, Route
    53, EC2, EKS, etc.).
  • Experience with the OSI model.
  • Work experience in IT, Dev Ops, and/or Cybersecurity.
  • Experience in automation scripting using Python and Bash.
  • Experience with cloud vendors (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with configuration management (Ansible Automation Platform, Puppet, Chef, Salt).
  • Experience supporting Dev Ops landscape (automated testing, deployment, and version control systems)
  • Experience with Kubernetes (Packaging, Deployment, Security, Governance, Scalability, etc.) using managed Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, AKS, Open Shift/ROSA).
  • Proficient navigating Linux servers, applications, and various networking protocols.
  • Proficient using logging tools (Splunk, Kibana, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Red Hat certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, RHCOA, RHCSC.
  • Other certifications: CCSP, Security+, CCNA/Network+.
  • Experience configuring and managing Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Experience using and securing Git Lab code repositories and CI pipelines.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure with Pulumi (preferred) or Terraform.
  • Experience with Debian, RHEL 8/9, and Windows (2019+) servers and containers.
  • Experience with security standards and frameworks, such as NIST SP 800-123, 800-171, 800-53, RMF, SOC2, ISO, FedRAMP, etc.
  • Experience with RTCA standards (DO-178C, DO-355A, etc.).
  • Implementing new standards and protocols using CAB meetings.
  • Documentation Creation.
