AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud. Keyresponsibilities
- Lead a talented group of firmware engineers as the Firmware Team Manager, fostering professional growth and a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Define and present the annual roadmap for delivering high-quality firmware solutions aligned with AWS strategic goals.
- Collaborate with AWS hardware and software teams to integrate firmware into the broader AWS Data Center services ecosystem.
- Support the deployment and operation of developed firmware in AWS data centers, ensuring smooth implementation and optimal performance.
The AWS Hardware Engineering team creates server designs for Amazon’s web services. Our designs emphasize frugality and operational excellence and enable AWS to realize critical business strategies. Our engineers solve challenging technology problems and build high-quality components for AWS to deliver reliable services.

Qualifications- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
- 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing a team of Software Engineers delivering complex, scalable software systems to customers
- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and describe software product features, designs, and strategy
- Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of Software Engineers
- Experience delivering products in fast-paced, multi-disciplined environments with distributed responsibility
- Experience with the scrum methodology
- Experience with Baseboard Management Controller (BMC)
- Experience with server hardware systems and Systems Management software/firmware

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation includes sign-on payments and RSUs and is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
