Software Engineer – Systems Infrastructure; OS & Connectivity

Compensation: Base salary plus bonus, with strong PTO

Our client is seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain the Linux-based operating system and connectivity layer that supports production systems operating in real-world environments. This role focuses on OS-level tooling, networking, and system reliability
, working close to hardware and core platform infrastructure.

• Build and maintain Linux-based operating systems used in production environments
• Develop OS-level tooling and services for configuration, updates, and connectivity
• Work extensively with Linux networking
  , including interfaces, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Write system tooling and automation using Python and Go
• Integrate OS-level software with cloud and bare metal infrastructure
• Support systems running on x86 and ARM architectures
• Debug and resolve issues related to system reliability, networking, and performance
• Partner closely with platform, infrastructure, and operations teams

• Experience working at the Linux OS or system tooling level
• Strong understanding of Linux internals and networking
• Hands-on experience writing Python or Go for system tooling or automation
• Comfort working close to hardware
  , including x86, ARM, or embedded environments
• Experience supporting production systems with long-lived runtime requirements

• Building or maintaining custom Linux distributions or OS-level services
• Experience integrating OS-level software with cloud and on-prem systems
• Exposure to hardware-adjacent or edge environments
• Familiarity with C++ in system-level contexts
