The Role

The Senior Product Manager, Legal Innovation will serve as a technical strategist and product builder focused on transforming the delivery of legal services within our practice groups. At MoFo, we’re transforming the way we deliver legal services by embedding technology and AI in our practice workflows. Reporting to the Director of Practice Innovation & Technology, this role bridges the gap between legal practitioners, operational teams, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Critically analyze and reinvent workflows in collaboration with legal practitioners and operational teams to move beyond "incremental" improvements toward truly transformative delivery models.
  • Design re‑imagined workflows, bespoke tools, and AI‑enabled solutions that significantly improve the delivery of legal services while maintaining our ethical and professional responsibilities.
  • Lead stakeholder management by securing high‑level buy‑in from partners, practitioners, and operational teams, acting as a persuasive advocate for the "future of work."
  • Apply Product Management rigor to the legal space—defining clear requirements, managing the product lifecycle, and partnering with engineering to execute against each solution.
  • Rapidly prototype and execute no/low‑code solutions to prove value before scaling.
To Make This Happen, You'll Own
  • Strategic Product Roadmap & Market Intelligence – act as the primary lead for market analysis on emerging AI technologies and execute "make vs. buy" assessments.
  • Product Portfolio & Lifecycle Management – continuously audit and manage the Firm’s portfolio of legal innovation tools, performing gap analyses to determine which emerging tools are required and which legacy tools should be decommissioned.
  • Pilot & Scale – lead the execution of pilot and proof‑of‑concept programs, moving successful pilots from concept to enterprise‑grade deployment.
  • AI Evangelism – maintain a "state‑of‑the‑art" understanding of the GenAI landscape and continually evaluate new tools.
Product Development & Solution Architecture
  • Solution Design – analyze operational workflows within Transactional practices to identify friction points and architect comprehensive technology solutions.
  • Technical Bridge – serve as the primary translator between legal requirements and engineering, leveraging low‑code/no‑code platforms to prototype solutions.
  • Agentic Workflow Construction – design and build agentic AI workflows that can handle complex legal reasoning tasks.
  • Data‑Driven Iteration – refine internal tools using technology usage data and attorney feedback.
Practice Alignment & Stakeholder Management
  • Practice Economics – collaborate with leadership to identify levers for improving matter profitability.
  • High‑Touch Engagement – embed directly with deal teams to support targeted legal technology adoption.
About You
  • The PM Mindset – 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, proven track record of taking a product from ideation to launch.
  • Big Law Context – experience in a big‑law environment is highly preferred, with an understanding of either transactional law or litigation.
  • GenAI Enthusiast – obsessed with the latest trends in AI, testing prompts, building side projects.
  • Master Communicator – exceptional stakeholder management skills, translating complex technical concepts for senior partners and legal nuances for software engineers.
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related field. JD or MBA highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency – strong understanding of emerging technologies (AI/ML, RAG, Agentic frameworks) and low‑code/no‑code environments.
  • Financial Acumen – familiarity with large law firm financial processes and ability to articulate ROI of innovation investments.
