About the Role

Join our team as a Product Manager as we build innovative software for schools. Our team blends the stability of a larger company with the agility of a startup. At Lightspeed Systems, we’re on a mission to advance educational effectiveness and safety for every student. We give school staff, students, and parents tools to ensure devices are used for education.

Our Product Managers drive product initiatives from concept through launch. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to define product strategy, create roadmaps, and work closely with design, engineering, and data teams to build and deliver solutions that make a difference in education.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own the roadmap for your product area, aligning priorities with company strategy and customer needs
  • Practice lean and agile product methodologies—experiment, measure, iterate, and drive outcomes that matter
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, refine priorities, and deliver high-quality features and enhancements
  • Communicate progress and product vision clearly across internal stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Support, Leadership)
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to translate insights and feedback into actionable improvements and scalable solutions
  • Understand market trends, competitive offerings, and customer feedback to inform roadmap decisions
  • Take ownership of results, from the smallest story to the largest strategic initiative
  • Balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects from concept through release
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of users and their challenges to ensure we build products that truly serve them
About You – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Have a growth mindset and know what that means in practice
  • Thrive in autonomous work and deep collaboration; adaptable in how you lead and support your team
  • Are comfortable facilitating user story mapping, requirements sessions, and team workshops that move ideas into action
  • Think holistically and strategically with attention to detail and consistency
  • Believe the devil is in the details—and have the focus to get those details right
  • Are technically fluent: converse with engineers about APIs, integrations, or data models and with stakeholders about value and outcomes
  • Are curious, analytical, and data-informed—comfortable using data to guide decisions
  • Have strong organizational and communication skills, able to synthesize input from multiple sources and drive alignment
  • Embrace feedback, adapt quickly, and remain calm under shifting priorities
  • Are driven by results and take ownership of the product’s success
  • Listen first, communicate clearly, and make teammates feel heard
Need to Have
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or in a similar role
  • Proven experience managing software products from ideation to delivery
  • Strong understanding of SaaS concepts and agile methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Have
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or education technology
  • Experience working with data-driven products or analytics platforms
  • Background as a developer, analyst, or technical PM
  • Experience at a growth-stage company or in scaling products
