Job Summary

SHI is seeking a Director to lead the IT side of our HRIS program, accountable for end-to-end delivery of the Workday migration and for seamless partnership with HR leadership. This role orchestrates cross-functional IT work streams (platform, integrations, data, reporting, security), governs scope, schedule, financials, and risk, and enables decision-making across Steer Co, Program Leadership, and HR stakeholder groups.

The program’s scope includes Workday Core HCM and prioritized modules such as Compensation, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Benefits, Talent, Learning, and related integrations as defined in our HRIS selection and roadmap materials.

This role will report to the Austin, TX office on a hybrid basis.

  • Serve as the strategic advisor to executive leaders, HR leadership, Steer Co, and project teams—bringing clear recommendations and facilitating timely decisions.
  • Establish and run program governance (Steer Co/Program Leadership/Core & Execution teams), aligning priorities, budgets, and scope across HR and IT.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary IT teams (internal staff, SI partners, and vendors), ensuring resourcing, velocity, and on-time, high-quality delivery.
  • Plan and execute integrated project plans with milestones, billing gates, and critical dependencies (data conversion, integrations, reporting, security, and access).
  • Manage scope and change control; create and drive change requests with clear impacts to timeline, cost, and value.
  • Own program financials (forecast, actuals, variance), ensuring milestone attainment and overall project profitability.
  • Partner with HR leadership to confirm process and configuration decisions, coordinating Workday tenant activities and Customer Confirmation/testing cycles.
  • Coordinate integration strategy across HRIS and adjacent systems (e.g., iCIMS, payroll, benefits, identity), overseeing design, build, and cutover.
  • Drive risk/issue management with actionable mitigation and escalation pathways; maintain a visible RAID log and ensure Steer Co clarity on trade-offs.
  • Lead stakeholder communication (executive readouts, status, decisions, and impacts) with crisp, outcome-oriented messaging.
  • Contribute to process improvement and mentor program and project managers across IT Transformation.
