Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Service Now Engineer to join our dynamic IT Operations team. This role is critical for a high-priority project currently in mid-flight. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in the Service Now platform and be capable of hitting the ground running to support ongoing development and implementation efforts.
A significant focus of this role will be supporting and enhancing our Hardware Asset Management (HAM) capabilities. While broad Service Now experience is required, specific experience with the HAM module is a major differentiator.
Key Responsibilities- Rapid Integration:
Quickly ramp up on existing project workflows, architecture, and team processes to contribute effectively within the first two weeks. - HAM Module Optimization:
Lead or assist in the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the Service Now Hardware Asset Management (HAM) module. - Platform Development:
Design, develop, and maintain Service Now applications, including UI Policies, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and Workflows. - Integration Support:
Develop and manage integrations between Service Now and other enterprise systems (e.g., discovery tools, procurement systems). - Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with stakeholders, project managers, and fellow engineers in an Agile environment to deliver high‑quality solutions. - Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide Tier 3 support for complex platform issues, specifically related to Asset Management and core ITSM functions. - Documentation:
Maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
- Experience:
3+ years of professional experience as a Service Now Engineer or Developer. - Platform Knowledge:
Proficiency in Service Now ITSM (Incident, Change, Problem, Knowledge) and CMDB. - Agile Mindset:
Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, iterative environment with changing priorities. - Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- HAM Expertise:
Hands‑on experience with the Service Now Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Professional module, including asset lifecycle management, hardware normalization, and mobile scanning. - Certifications:
Certified Service Now Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in HAM or Discovery. - Migration
Experience:
Experience picking up projects mid‑progress and successfully driving them to completion.
