Overview

Tax AI Associate s role supports adoption of AI and enabling technologies across 1,000+ tax professionals through enablement, requirements translation, co-building, and disciplined testing. The position sits at the intersection of tax technical work and AI/technology execution, partnering with tax SMEs and product/technology teams to translate real tax "jobs to be done" into usable tools, repeatable workflows, and scalable training.

Your journey at Crowe starts here. Crowe offers flexibility to balance work with life moments, opportunities for career growth and leadership, and a history of innovation across audit, tax, and consulting services. We invest in AI-enabled insights and technology-powered solutions to enhance our services.

We expect the candidate to uphold Crowe’s values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship and to act ethically and with integrity at all times. Crowe is not sponsoring for work authorization at this time.

Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering & Product Translation:
Partner with tax SMEs to map technical tax workflows and identify high-value "jobs to be done" suitable for AI/technology augmentation. Produce high-quality user stories, requirements documentation, and acceptance criteria. Maintain organized backlogs and documentation to enable efficient triage, prioritization, and delivery.
  • Enablement & Training Delivery:
Plan and lead enablement sessions for tax teams and new hires, including live trainings, recorded content, office hours, and targeted role-based upskilling. Create training materials and practical exercises that translate AI concepts into daily tax work outcomes.
  • Co-Building with Tax SMEs:
Assist tax practitioners in developing AI-enabled workflows and tools within controlled technology environments (e.g., enterprise ChatGPT, Alteryx, proprietary platforms). Help convert experimentation into standardized assets (templates, playbooks, reusable prompts, procedures).
  • Communication & Change Enablement:
Produce user-facing guidance (job aids, instructions, FAQs), internal updates, and adoption materials to drive behavior change. Contribute to practice-facing thought leadership on applied AI in tax and responsible use.
  • Testing, QA, and Continuous Improvement:
Conduct user acceptance testing sessions with tax teams; document outcomes, issues, and enhancement opportunities; log defects and improvement stories; support QA testing and validate fixes before broader release.
  • Stakeholders &

    Collaboration:

Partner with tax practitioners and SMEs, tax leadership, technology/product teams, and risk/compliance/security stakeholders to align on adoption goals, tooling, and governance.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting (with tax focus), or equivalent tax-related discipline.
  • Demonstrated tax-domain understanding sufficient to engage in technical workflow discussions and translate work into requirements.
  • Proficiency with ChatGPT or equivalent enterprise-grade customizable AI tools, including the ability to produce repeatable workflows and guidance (not just ad hoc usage).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build credibility with tax professionals and lead enablement sessions.
  • High organizational discipline: documentation, backlog tracking, follow-through, and clear status communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coding or automation skills (e.g., Python) applied to workflow enablement, document processing, or analytics.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including exposure to AI services; experience with Azure AI Document Intelligence or similar tooling.
  • Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops, agile delivery practices, and writing user stories / managing backlogs.
  • Experience with tools such as Alteryx or comparable workflow automation tools.
  • Open to hiring at Associate or Senior Associate level; compensation and title aligned to experience.
  • Open to candidates who may not be located near a Crowe office location for this role/opening.
