Director of User Experience Design – Remote (USA)

The Opportunity

As a Director of User Experience Design you will lead a team that shapes the experience of Splunk’s products across the ecosystem. Your work will ensure our products deliver insightful, cohesive, and effortless experiences that scale across jobs, personas, and product lines. You will be part of the Product Experience (PX) organization, reporting to a Senior Director of User Experience, driving product strategy, and helping define the design vision that differentiates Splunk in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and oversee product experience objectives that align with the company’s mission.
  • Manage budgets, staffing, and operational considerations for the UX design organization.
  • Allocate resources and assign work across teams and initiatives to maximize impact.
  • Review, critique, and elevate design quality and outcomes at the project and portfolio level.
  • Partner with executive leaders and peers to set product strategy and foster collaboration across Product Management, Engineering, Research, and other disciplines.
  • Provide hands‑on direction, insight, and coaching at portfolio level while delegating effectively and setting clear expectations.
  • Champion change management and culture building initiatives to support a dynamic, high‑performing design team.
  • Identify opportunities for integration and shared value, especially in relation to recent Cisco acquisitions.

Requirements
  • 15+ years of UX design experience in B2B or B2C across regulated industries.
  • 10+ years of leading large UX research or product design teams at enterprise scale.
  • Experience designing class‑leading products in data analytics, observability, network security, incident management, or data visualization.
  • Strong portfolio of research‑driven, customer‑centered design work demonstrating impact on business outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Suite, Miro, and other design tools; enthusiasm for new ways of working.
  • Experience managing and coordinating global, asynchronous teams.
  • Ability to influence product direction through thoughtful, proactive partnership.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
  • Advanced degree (M.A./M.S./Ph.D.) or equivalent experience in User Experience Design, Human Factors, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Data Science, or a related field.
