We are seeking a Senior Java Web Services & Integration Engineer to support the enhancement and modernization of large-scale public‑sector systems supporting long‑term care and specialized services programs.
This role focuses on end‑to‑end application development
, including web services, system integrations, batch processing, and workflow automation within complex enterprise environments. The ideal candidate brings deep experience across the full SDLC, strong judgment, and the ability to work independently on high‑impact initiatives while collaborating across technical and business teams.
- Plan, design, develop, test, and document enterprise‑level web applications and web services
- Analyze user requests for new or modified functionality and determine feasibility, cost, effort, and system compatibility
- Develop detailed technical specifications using structured analysis and object‑oriented design methodologies
- Build and maintain Java / J2EE‑based applications integrated with relational databases
- Develop and support web services, batch processing, and system integrations
- Perform system and integration testing; design and execute test plans and defect resolution processes
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly documented and delivered
- Support enhancements to existing enterprise platforms while ensuring compliance with regulatory and program requirements
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex development efforts
- 8+ years of experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- 8+ years of hands‑on experience with:
- Object‑oriented analysis and design (OOD)
- SQL and relational database development
- Web services
- System integration and integration testing
- Web Sphere and enterprise application environments
- Oracle‑based databases, including stored procedures
- System test plans, test scenarios, and defect tracking processes
- Data structures, data migration, conversion, and transformation solutions
- Ability to evaluate and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Work independently on complex initiatives
- Facilitate collaboration across cross‑functional technical teams
- Prior experience supporting Texas public‑sector or health and human services systems
- Familiarity with long‑term care, eligibility, or provider‑facing systems

Hours:
1,192 hours per candidate - Contract may be amended or extended by mutual agreement
