What you'll do- Design and implement advanced security tools that integrate with infrastructure and development environments to proactively reduce risk
- Engineer scalable AI/ML‑based detection and response systems, with emphasis on behavioral analytics, anomaly detection, and contextual access decisions
- Build and maintain secure‑by‑design systems that automate identity, access control, and policy enforcement across a hybrid cloud environment
- Lead the development of internal security platforms and libraries to support engineering teams in building secure applications with minimal friction
- Collaborate across App Sec, SRE, and Platform Engineering to embed security intelligence into infrastructure pipelines and developer workflows
- Drive the adoption of real‑time threat intelligence and detection‑as‑code methodologies to enable continuous, automated response
- Prototype and evaluate novel security techniques, applying open‑source tools, academic research, and AI models to practical use cases
- Guide architecture decisions that affect security posture, providing technical mentorship and thought leadership to engineering teams
- 10+ years of experience in Security Engineering
- Engineering‑first mindset with proven experience building and scaling complex systems, platforms, or developer tooling in security
- Expertise in designing and delivering security automation and orchestration platforms, ideally leveraging cloud‑native technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes)
- Deep fluency in Python, Go, or similar languages, with experience implementing pipelines, services, and APIs in production environments
- Working knowledge or hands‑on experience applying machine learning or data science techniques to cybersecurity problems
- Strong grasp of systems internals, identity & access management, and network security fundamentals
- Able to design systems that balance risk, usability, and operational complexity, especially in fast‑moving product and engineering orgs
- Comfortable with Dev Sec Ops practices, SDLC integration, and infrastructure‑as‑code
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and lead engineering efforts across organizational boundaries
- Motivated by impact and relentless in simplifying security for developers and operations teams
This role is based in Austin, TX. We ask that you’re within a commutable distance to this office so you can come onsite regularly to collaborate across engineering teams, Monday – Wednesday. We have a hybrid work style and ask that all Engineers be onsite Monday – Wednesday.
