This is a one-year position with the chance to renew yearly based on performance.## Purpose Dr. Franco Pestilli in the Department of Psychology is hiring an Infrastructure Software Engineer for the Pestilli Lab.## Responsibilities
* Database Design & Development:
Architect and implement scalable and efficient database solutions to handle large volumes of neuroscience data. Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
* Cloud

Infrastructure: Build and manage cloud-based infrastructure to support the storage, processing, and analysis of neuroscience data. Leverage cloud services to enhance data availability and performance.
* Containerization & Orchestration:
Utilize Docker for containerizing applications and Kubernetes for orchestrating and managing containerized applications in a cloud environment.
* Documentation & Best Practices:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems, code, and processes. Implement and promote best practices for software development and data management.

* Collaboration:

Work closely with research teams to understand their data requirements and provide technical solutions that meet their needs. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate data systems seamlessly.
* Performance Optimization:
Monitor and optimize database performance, addressing any issues related to scalability, latency, and data retrieval.##

Required Qualifications

* Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or equivalent experience in relevant areas is a plus.

* Experience:

At least one year of experience in back-end software development with a strong focus on database infrastructure and cloud computing.
* Technical Skills:
Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Postgre

SQL, No

SQL).

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization. Understanding of Kubernetes for container orchestration. Understanding of networking, TCP/IP, HTTP, firewall. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and JavaScript. Familiarity with data security and best practices for privacy.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience:

At least three years of experience in back-end software development with a strong focus on database infrastructure and cloud computing.

* Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.## Salary Range $70,000+ depending on qualifications## Working Conditions
