The HT Group has a commercial and industrial services client in Austin, TX looking for a HR Compensation & Compliance Specialist who is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive to support multi‑state HR compliance initiatives and administer competitive, data‑driven compensation programs. This role partners closely with HR leadership and business leaders to ensure regulatory compliance, maintain accurate HR data and reporting, and provide strategic guidance on compensation decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local employment law changes, recommending policy and process updates as needed
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, FLSA, pay transparency, EEO reporting, and other employment regulations in a multi‑state environment
  • Support internal and external HR audits, ensuring data accuracy and process integrity
  • Conduct regular audits of HR systems and processes to maintain compliance and accurate reporting
  • Build, maintain, and analyze HR metrics dashboards and reports for leadership review
  • Administer compensation programs including job evaluations, salary structures, market benchmarking, and incentive plans
  • Conduct compensation analyses for new hires, promotions, transfers, and pay adjustments
  • Partner with people leaders to provide data‑driven guidance on compensation decisions
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data to support compliance and organizational reporting
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in HR compliance, compensation, or a related HR specialty
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws in a multi‑state environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with HRIS platforms (data visualization tools a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience generating reports and interpreting HR data
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
