The HT Group is partnering with a growing mechanical contracting company to identify a skilled Payroll Coordinator to join their team on a direct-hire basis. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with 2–5 years of hands-on experience who is proficient in Paycom, Quick Books, and Microsoft Excel, and who has demonstrated success working in a remote environment. In this position, the Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for processing weekly and semi-monthly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, supporting year-end reporting, assisting with ad hoc HR-related tasks, and serving as a point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.

- Coordinate and process weekly and semi-monthly multi-state payroll, partnering closely with managers, HR, and Finance to ensure accurate time reporting and data integrity
- Maintain precise payroll records by gathering, calculating, and inputting employee and compensation data
- Ensure payroll operations remain compliant with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
- Accurately calculate, withhold, and remit payroll taxes in accordance with all regulatory requirements and deadlines
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related questions and resolutions
- Collaborate with HR to ensure timely and accurate updates related to new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and employee status updates
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and ACA reporting
- Assist with payroll, benefits, and employee data audits as needed
- 2-5 years of experience in a Payroll Coordinator role or a closely related position
- Working knowledge of HR and payroll systems such as Paycom, Paychex, and Quick Books, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Solid understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and industry best practices
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Familiarity with payroll tax requirements, including withholding, reporting, and compliance at the federal, state, and local levels
