Duties

The Director of Catering & Conference Services will be responsible for the strategic leadership, planning, coordination, and execution of all conferences, meetings, weddings, social events, and special functions hosted at the property. This role oversees the end-to-end event lifecycle, from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up, ensuring exceptional client experiences, operational excellence, and maximized revenue performance.

General Duties
  • Lead and oversee all Catering & Conference Services operations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and excellence in event planning and execution.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point and senior contact for conference, meeting, and event clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing consultative guidance from inquiry through post-event follow-up.
  • Coordinate and oversee meetings, weddings, conferences, social events, trade shows, and special functions with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Banquets, AV, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and Front Office teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Develop, review, and approve detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), event resumes, group profiles, contracts, and operational communications.
  • Schedule and lead pre-event, planning, and post-event meetings with operational departments.
  • Oversee room setups, floor plans, timelines, staffing requirements, and logistical execution for all events.
  • Ensure all event spaces are properly blocked, turned, released, and optimized to maximize revenue potential.
  • Drive revenue through strategic upselling of food and beverage, room rental, audiovisual services, labor, storage, and auxiliary services.
  • Monitor and maximize revenue streams including room rental fees, service charges, electrical and AV fees, storage, and other billable services in accordance with contracts and hotel policies.
  • Coordinate event menus that balance guest experience with profitability and revenue optimization.
  • Manage conference rooming lists, cutoff dates, and pickup reporting in coordination with Sales and Reservations.
  • Assist clients with off-premise arrangements (transportation, floral, décor, AV, spousal programs, etc.) while ensuring appropriate approvals and revenue recovery.
  • Obtain required approvals for all event-related purchases, rentals, or equipment prior to event execution.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and statistical tracking for conferences and events.
