Overview
Hotel Magdalena is seeking a Front Desk Agent to handle a range of duties including telephone operations, guest check-in/check-out, reservations, inventory control, and concierge services. Concierge responsibilities may include transportation, dining reservations, floral requests, amenity requests, grocery shopping, tee times, spa services, hiking, children’s programs, babysitting, water recreation, tennis, golf instruction, biking, and other guest services as needed.

Responsibilities- Check guests in and out in a confident, professional, and personalized manner.
- Take hotel reservations accurately and efficiently.
- Answer calls in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner; maintain logs of guest calls and actions.
- Maintain an accurate log of guest calls for assistance or complaints and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Open, secure, and balance shift banks; verify cash, credit card, and room charge transactions.
- Maintain accuracy with all accounting and billing procedures.
- Have knowledge of hotel availability, current rates, and events that may affect occupancy.
- Issue guest safety deposit boxes as requested.
- Possess knowledge of local restaurants, events, attractions, and directions.
- Coordinate with departments and management to meet hotel needs; communicate via email, log books, meetings, or other channels as required.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the work area; ensure equipment is maintained in good condition.
- Adhere to all standards of operations, policies, procedures, manuals, and training materials.
- Attend relevant meetings and be prepared to perform other tasks as needed based on operational demands.
- High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
- Six (6) months of related experience in hospitality or service industry.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
- Ability to understand other computer programs (e.g., Property Management System).
- Moderate noise level typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; may require a two-person lift for heavier items.
- Potential to remain stationary for extended periods and to move about the property; up to eight hours per day.
