Compensation

Hourly base pay range: $19–$21 per hour.

Work Schedule

Schedule depends on hotel business volumes and will be discussed during interviews. Open availability is recommended.

Summary

The Door Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. The role includes opening doors for guests entering and exiting the facility and assisting guests with transportation to off‑site locations.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients; greet guests within five feet with a professional approach, use guest last names, and salutation; approx. 35% time.
  • Practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette; post in designated areas when not completing tasks; approx. 15% time.
  • Assist guests with room changes, delivery/pickup of items to guest rooms, open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests; approx. 25% time.
  • Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provide information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and main attractions; deliver messages/items/guest amenities as requested; approx. 25% time.
Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree.
Licensure/Certification
  • N/A
Work Experience
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass criminal background and drug screen.
  • Must complete the Wheelchair Safety Training course provided by Towne Park.
  • If providing valet parking or shuttle services, may be subject to additional requirements.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of customer service.
Skills
  • Read and write standard English.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees.
  • Perform basic arithmetic operations (adding/subtracting three‑digit numbers, multiply/divide with tens and hundreds) using American currency units.
  • Understand 24‑hour and military time systems.
  • Understand rates applicable to time passed.
  • Maintain accuracy and composure while under pressure.
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods and may need to run, walk, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must have close and distance vision, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Lifting Requirements

Occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force, frequently up to 50 pounds, constantly up to 20 pounds to move objects.

Working Environment

Majority of work outdoors for extended periods, including the entire shift. Employees subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold. Weather protection may be provided, but not necessarily for temperature changes.

Travel

Travel up to 5% may be required.

Authority to Act

Job is fairly routine; decisions made within operational instructions. Errors in judgment could affect smooth operation.
