Job Summary of the Lead CT Technologist
The Charge CT Technologist shall be responsible for the daily operation of the CT Department. Monitors and directs all technical functions, which includes efficient utilization of equipment and human resources based upon patient load. Optimizes the use of radiation by utilizing the concepts of Image Gently, Image Wisely and the American College of Radiology. Ensures the staff is trained and competent.
Maintains Performance Improvement and Quality Control activities. Responsible for performing CT procedures in accordance with standards and practice set forth by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and Hospital Policies and Procedures. The Charge CT Technologist demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care/safety, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, medication safety (contrast) and specialized techniques. Maintains professional judgment and conduct that is complimentary of the ARRT Code of Ethics and St.

Responsibilities of the Lead CT Technologist
Oversee workflow of department, utilizing Meditech tracker and Technologist communication board.
Ensure all procedures and related task are completed during shift without comprising quality.
Conduct orientation of new employees/cross-training according to Orientation Checklist and Job Description.
Teach and train staff and recognize when others are in need of assistance.
On an on-going basis, monitor the scans and job performance of each CT Technologist.
On an on-going basis, monitor the staff compliance to safety practices; infection control, contrast administration, fall precaution billing and other SAMC policies and guidelines.
Knowledge and ability to schedule outpatient and inpatient procedures in accordance with available resources.
