Texas Neuro Rehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60 years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.

Texas Neuro Rehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas Neuro Rehab Center is currently accepting applicants for a Patient Care Technician. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) the patient care technician (PCT) provides services related to activities of daily living. The PCT assists the nursing staff in accordance with facility policies and procedures. The PCT assists in maintaining a well organized, clean, and adequately stocked unit.

Qualifications

The following are the job requirements for the Patient Care Technician position:

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Demonstrates understanding of Texas Neuro Rehab Center's safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures. Works autonomously and with supervision. Interfaces with the public, physicians, staff, patients, and administration and ancillary/support department representatives. Maintains confidentiality of patient medical records. Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients.

EDUCATION: Required:
High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred: bachelor's degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Required:
Current Driver's license or State issued  certification.

PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift and carry 50 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per policy. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Able to use a computer and/or write for extended periods of time. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions.

Able to communicate in writing and verbally and to speak clearly such that others can understand. Able to use the phone for extended periods of time. Regular and expected attendance.
