Position: Clinical Supervisor (BCBA)

Overview

The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) is seeking highly motivated professionals to join our team. CARD is a founder‑owned organization and a mission‑driven leader focused on helping people with autism live their best lives. CARD uses applied behavior analysis (ABA) to address behaviors and deficits commonly associated with autism, with locations throughout the US and a network of trained behavior technicians, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and researchers developing and implementing individualized treatment programs.

Position Overview

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for all clinical aspects of treatment for the patients they oversee. This includes the assessment and analysis of the patient’s skills and challenging behaviors, development of treatment plans, overseeing the implementation of treatment, collaboration with and training of caregivers, and ongoing coaching and training of behavioral technicians. Treatment plans address areas of medical necessity and may occur in the CARD center, the patient’s home, school, community, or via telehealth.

Clinical Supervisors report to the Group Clinical Manager. This is a salaried, exempt, full‑time position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Uses clinical judgment to promote optimal outcomes for each patient
  • Develops and maintains treatment plans
  • Ensures that all supervision hours are at 100% treatment adherence each month
  • Evaluates patients to identify skill deficits and strengths
  • Analyzes challenging behaviors to identify the function of the behavior
  • Develops functionally relevant treatment plans to reduce challenging behaviors
  • Observes treatment implementation for potential program revisions
  • Monitors treatment integrity to ensure satisfactory implementation of treatment protocols
  • Directs behavior technicians in the implementation of new or revised treatment protocols
  • Provides ongoing coaching and training to behavioral technicians
  • Primarily works physically within the center to support technicians and follow best practices of direct observation
  • Summarizes and analyzes data to evaluate patient progress toward treatment goals and adjusts treatment protocols based on data
  • Updates treatment plans at least once per month, based on patient response to treatment
  • Fulfills a minimum of 120 payor/client authorized billable hours per month, inclusive of supervisory and therapy hours
  • Accurately communicates treatment response to treatment stakeholders (caregivers, payers)
  • Coordinates care with other professionals
  • Administers, completes, and scores standardized assessments
  • Includes caregiver as part of the treatment team with consistent caregiver collaboration meetings
  • Interacts with payers in a collaborative, professional, thorough, and informative manner
  • Engages with payers as needed for funding meetings (e.g., IEP, peer reviews)
  • Stays up to date on best practices for ABA treatment to ensure clinical excellence
  • Maintains appropriate documentation in Skills and the patient’s medical record
  • Communicates effectively and compassionately with patients, families and colleagues
  • Provides a safe and supportive environment for patients, families and colleagues
  • Maintains compliance with HIPAA requirements at all times
  • Partners consistently and effectively with other center leadership including Operations Manager, Clinical Supervisors, Administrative Coordinator Technician, and Behavior Technician Leads
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis or related field required
  • Certification as a behavior analyst from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board required
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) required
