As part of Vivent Health’s commitment to ensuring timely and comprehensive healthcare access for individuals with and at risk for HIV, the Financial Verification Specialist plays a crucial role in streamlining insurance and eligibility screening. This position is responsible for verifying insurance coverage and providing an out of pocket estimate for services. The specialist will collaborate closely with patients and other team members to provide efficient and seamless support, contributing to an exceptional patient experience.

- Ensuring that all eligibility screenings meet key grant and funding criteria to protect financial sustainability and program effectiveness.
- Conducting thorough and efficient insurance verification for patient access to behavioral health, dental, and medical services.
- Update patient insurance and payor information in required systems, including Epic to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and communicate discrepancies in coverage and assist patients in resolving them.
- Collaborate with the social services team to complete grant eligibility requirements, when needed.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with patients, providers and insurance companies.
- Provide patients with information regarding their insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with other departments to address insurance‑related inquiries or issues.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.
- Demonstrate exemplary customer service and interpersonal communication skills; must have the ability to work with diverse people groups.
