Overview
Job Summary: Within the Healthy Families Travis County program, this Family Resource Specialist conducts outreach for referrals and collaborates with program managers, supervisors, and direct service providers to ensure that Healthy Families America’s (HFA) Best Practice Standards are met, particularly in the area of outreach, collecting and managing referrals, maintaining community partners, and completing intake interviews. Participates in regular supervision meetings, team meetings and other required meetings and trainings.
Provides support to managers by assisting with program data and reports. This highly trustworthy individual works autonomously at times yet must be available to provide progress updates whenever needed. Provides guidance and supervision to direct service staff as needed, and provides training and presentations. This position may maintain a small caseload of families when needed. Communicates professionally, effectively, practices cultural humility, and promotes equity.

- Coordinates, supervises, trains, monitors and evaluates program activities and staff.
- Plans, develops and recommends new or revised programs and goals and objectives.
- Develops and schedules program work plans, oversees daily operations and coordinates program activities.
- Determines, or assists in determining program priorities.
- Evaluates program effectiveness to develop improved methods. Devises evaluation methodology and coordinates implementation. Analyzes results and recommends or takes appropriate action.
- Monitors and approves program expenditures within established budget. May prepare or assist in preparing proposals for funding or funding continuation.
- Serves as technical consultant for program and related policy and provides technical and problem solving assistance on program services. Participates in providing program services to clients.
- Analyzes and reviews analysis of program and program policy issues.
- Prepares periodic reports, financial analysis and statistical reports on program activities and program progress.
- Serves as liaison with, and resource for community outreach and advocacy groups, service providers and others. Coordinates, improves and stimulates interest in the program and recruits program participants.
- Plans, develops and conducts program-related educational sessions and training. Speaks to community and other groups.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Education and Experience: Bachelor s degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences or a directly related field AND five (5) years experience in social services or a directly related field, including experience coordinating a program;

Any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.
Dependent on department or division employed, the following certifications may be required:
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC);
OR,
Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC).
Licensed Social Worker (LSW);
OR,
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Valid Texas Driver s License.
Preferred Qualifications- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Excellent presentation skills and interviewing skills
- Master s degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences or a directly related field.
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience in program or agency serving children and families
- Knowledge of the Healthy Families America’s Best Practices Standards
- Knowledge of research-based parenting practices, child development, and infant mental health
- Ability to provide services in families’ homes and virtually, if needed
- Ability to conduct trainings and presentations to staff, families and the community, both in-person and virtually
- 5 years of experience working directly with children (0-3)
