As an Ultrasound Technologist, you are responsible for performing ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in all areas of ultrasound. You will demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. You will exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. You will apply appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedure.
You will apply knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age‑specific needs.
- You will consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric
- You will demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- You will follow established scanning and filming protocols.
- You will operate the Ultrasound units efficiently and effectively.
- You will maintain thorough knowledge of the operating parameters of the scanner.
- You will operate the complex measurement and Doppler programs.
- You will document information seen during exam.
- You will complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organize and prioritize workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands.
- You will demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients; possess skill to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
- You will relay to Radiologist any relevant patient information.
- You will assist physicians performing invasive exams.
- You will perform procedures in OR.
- You will coordinate procedures with other departments.
- You will complete required documentation on forms, logs and on the computer.
- You will obtain all pertinent patient history, and relays it to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
- You will review written orders, assess patient identification and ensure indicators are appropriate prior to procedure.

What Qualifications You Will Need- One year experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
