We’re offering a $15,000 Sign On Bonus & Relo to Cath Lab (CVIS) Professionals.

Must hold an RCIS, ARRT certification. Open to training Rad Techs interested in transitioning into the Cath Lab.

Work Schedule:

4–10 Hour Day Shifts, Monday–Thursday call only. Minimal WEEKEND CALL – Approx: 1 weekend every 4 months.

This is a full‑time day shift position, Monday–Friday, 4 days/week 7am–5:30pm 4–10 Hour Day Shifts.

Lakeway is located about 25 miles west of downtown Austin. Lakeway is ideally situated on the south shore of Lake Travis in the scenic Texas Hill Country. Lakeway is a resort community complete with golf courses, tennis courts, marinas, a 65‑mile long lake, 100 acres of parkland and trails, and nearly 500 acres of greenbelts. Baylor Scott & White Health Lakeway is a private, non‑profit, 121‑bed, full‑service hospital. The Medical Center is a certified primary stroke center, a certified chest pain center. Lakeway has achieved Magnet recognition for its nursing professionalism, teamwork and superiority in patient care.

Must live within 30 minutes of hospital.

• 3 procedure suites. 2 GE fluoroscopy units (soon to be upgraded to Phillips), Siemens biplane system. 12 private room pre/post holding rooms.
• Procedures:
  Cardiology – left heart catheterization, PFO closure, STEMI/MI, mechanical device insertions, lithotripsy, thrombectomy, renal stenting, peripheral vascular, PCI. Interventional radiology – kyphoplasty, port‑a‑cath placements, biopsies, cryoablations, uterine artery embolization, prostate embolization, GI bleed embolization, thrombectomy, percutaneous drain placement, paracentesis, thoracentesis, fistula grams. Electrophysiology – pacemaker, ablation, cryo‑ablation, pulse field ablation. Population – varies (adult).

Spacious procedure rooms and spread out to support the nurse who is circulating and also the scrub tech, physician. If they need to bring equipment they have the room.

3:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio for pre/post. Techs rotate modalities and procedures.

The Cardiovascular Invasive Technician is responsible to surgically scrub in and assist with equipment. Assists the Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures as a secondary assignment. Prepares room and equipment, transports and monitors patients. May handle medications in accordance with responsibilities.

• Assists physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, diagnostic and interventional, peripheral and coronary, interventional and thrombolytic therapy.
• Prepares and maintains sterile 1 fields for lab procedures; prints film and calculates stenosis on peripheral cases; circulates in procedure rooms and collects data on appropriate forms; monitors patient’s ECG and vital signs while in the catheterization lab, notifying physicians of variances, and providing emergency procedures (CPR, defibrillation, etc.) as needed.
• Performs pre‑and post‑procedure care. Monitors and orients patients for special/catheterization procedures. Answers related questions to make patients comfortable. Transports patients to and from the procedural area.
• Communicates relevant medical information to physicians and other staff through required documentation on specified medical record forms.
• Records, enters data into the computer system and calculates catheterization data, gradients, LV grams, cardiac outputs, and peripheral stenosis.
• Follows national and state radiation protection regulations for patients, self and staff.
