Job Description
Summary:
The Sonography Program Adjunct Faculty supports learning on campus, all distance learning modalities, in simulation, and through clinical experiences. This part‑time position involves on‑campus clinical lab instruction and off‑campus clinical support in the medical and vascular sonography specialties. Responsible for preparing and delivering coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline‑appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success and creating an environment that promotes belonging for all.
This position starts in February of 2026.
Job Description:
The Sonography Program is comprised of two tracks in which students will earn their Associate of Applied Science, Advanced Technical Certificate, and eligibility for national credentialing examinations in Diagnostic Cardiovascular or Medical‑Vascular (including OBGYN) Sonography. Additionally, we offer an Advanced Technical Certificate in Cardiac Sonography for credentialed sonographers seeking formal education in this specialty. The Sonography department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
We offer comprehensive didactic and clinical education with on‑campus labs and direct patient care experience in every semester of the program. The program is committed to ensuring our curriculum aligns with industry standards through collaboration with our clinical affiliates and sonography professional organizations.
- Prepare and teach courses in the field of medical and vascular sonography to a multicultural student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of community college students and the standards of the discipline.
- Participate actively in departmental responsibilities and departmental governance, including curriculum review and revision, program review, assessment of student learning outcomes at the course and program level, and other departmental activities.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
- Serve as a mentor to students in the medical‑vascular sonography program.
