We are seeking a highly capable and mission‑driven Emergency Preparedness & Management (EPM) Specialist to support Saronic’s rapidly expanding operational footprint. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, has deep technical rescue and emergency management expertise, and is passionate about building enterprise‑level readiness capabilities. The EPM Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Saronic’s rescue, emergency response, and high‑risk operational programs—ensuring regulatory alignment, operational readiness, and effective emergency response across all sites.

Responsibilities
  • Emergency Response & Rescue Programs
  • Develop and maintain Saronic Emergency Response Team (SERT) program standards, SOPs, and training/certification pathways.
  • Manage SERT rosters, scheduling, required competencies, and mobilization readiness.
  • Conduct SERT‑specific drills, tabletop exercises, and scenario‑based training evolutions.
  • Serve in Incident Command System (ICS) roles during emergency events, including Incident Commander, Operations Section Chief, or Safety Officer.
  • Respond to emergencies including fire, medical, and technical rescue incidents, and support on‑scene operations as needed.
  • Activate and operate emergency alerting, notification, and communication systems during incidents.
  • High‑Risk Operations & Technical Rescue
  • Serve as enterprise owner for the Confined Space program.
  • Develop and maintain standards for identifying, categorizing, and managing confined spaces and associated entry and rescue requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement additional high‑risk operational and rescue programs (e.g., high‑angle rescue, machinery entrapment, waterfront or marine rescue) as Saronic expands.
  • Maintain rescue equipment caches, inspection cycles, service records, and readiness logs.
  • Coordinate and/or deliver technical rescue training aligned with NFPA standards and industry best practices.
  • Provide on‑site support during high‑risk work evolutions to ensure rescue readiness and emergency response capability.
  • Emergency Medical Readiness & Program Management
  • Standardize trauma supplies and medical response protocols across all sites.
  • Ensure integration of medical response capabilities into Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), SERT, and rescue programs.
  • Maintain rescue and response documentation including SOPs, training records, equipment logs, and after‑action reports (AARs).
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and compliance assessments related to emergency preparedness and high‑risk programs.
  • Contribute to enterprise KPIs, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives related to response capability and rescue readiness.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align emergency preparedness efforts with broader organizational objectives.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or higher in emergency management, fire science, occupational safety, public safety, or a related field (documented work experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
  • NREMT or Texas DSHS EMT (AEMT or Paramedic preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in emergency response, technical rescue, incident management, or high‑risk operational environments.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial rescue, public safety, military emergency operations, or technical rescue disciplines.
  • Technical certifications/training (IFSAC, Pro Board, TCFP, TEEX, IAEM, FEMA, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards, ICS/NIMS, and emergency management best practices.
  • Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and sustaining emergency response or rescue programs.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with a focus on operational readiness.
  • Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience delivering technical instruction to responders, operators, supervisors, and leadership teams.
