Sexual Assault Advocate (Rathgeber Village Campus)

SAFE Alliance seeks a Sexual Assault Advocate for the Community Services Program Sexual Assault Services department. This role requires a client‑centered, trauma‑informed survivor accompaniment. Applicants must bring a strong commitment to supporting survivors through medical, legal, and emotional processes.

• Provide forensic medical accompaniment, including forensic exams, HIV prophylaxis, strangulation care, and kit conversions.
• Assist survivors with delayed law‑enforcement reports, detective interviews, Title IX hearings, and court proceedings.
• Offer face‑to‑face crisis intervention, discuss medical and legal options, and explain SAFE Alliance support services such as counseling, legal advocacy, and follow‑up services.
• Maintain a strengths‑based, trauma‑informed approach for ongoing advocacy and follow‑up.

• Full‑time, exempt position with an annual salary of $48,000–$50,000, plus an annual language differential of $3,600 for English/Spanish bilingual applicants.
• Location:
  
  Rathgeber Village Campus, Mueller area. Some travel within the community or between campuses and remote/hybrid work may be required.
• Work schedule:
  
  staggered 24/7 services with on‑call duty 3 consecutive days a week for 12‑hour shifts; on‑call stipend of $2,000 per year.

• Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience providing crisis stabilization support and advocacy or case management to trauma/sexual assault survivors.
• Attendance required at monthly Assault Victim Advocacy program team meetings.
• Ability to work quickly in fast‑paced medical environments and interact effectively with first responders.
• Completion of the 40‑Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program within six months of employment and participation in annual continuing education.
• Valid Texas driver’s license; driving record acceptable and at least three consecutive years of driving experience (or one year if over 27 years of age).
• Pass required criminal background checks (including FBI fingerprint if applicable), pre‑employment drug screen, and TB test as applicable.
• Compliance with COVID‑19 policies; vaccination recommended.
