EKG Technician PRN Job Summary

As an Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician PRN 's South Austin Medical Center, you will perform non‑invasive cardiovascular procedures, work closely with the healthcare team, and maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.

• Transport patients to and from the department to complete procedures
• Order, deliver, and retrieve equipment and supplies for the unit
• Identify life‑threatening arrhythmias and/or rhythm changes, and communicate them to the physician and/or registered nurse
• Perform 12‑18 lead EKG, signal‑average EKG, pediatric EKG, and rhythm strip procedures
• Apply, remove, and scan Holter monitors
• Perform multi‑stage stress tests
• Assist physicians with the completion of exams and studies
• Collect, label, and deliver lab specimens
• Assist with maintenance of the patient log and schedule

• 1 year of experience as an EKG Technician
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy
