Job Summary

The Crisis Specialist QMHP - Office or Residential Based is responsible for ensuring the provision of recovery-focused, person-centered care with a trauma-informed perspective. This position operates in a dynamic environment and performs case management, assessment, and/or service coordination work based on the program's guidelines. The QMHP's duties may include and are not limited to providing continuity of care services, linking consumers and families to needed resources, and coordinating, monitoring, and updating services and consumer goals.

Providing necessary skills training, assisting in crisis prevention, and/or providing community outreach are additional roles. As a team member within the crisis services division, the QMHP works to address client’s needs utilizing assessment, multidisciplinary coordination, and efficient clinically appropriate utilization of agency resources. Duties include collaboration with consumers, first responders, and community stakeholders to address immediate mental health crisis and plan for future crisis relapse prevention.

Qualified Mental Health Clinicians (QMHP) embrace trauma sensitive and informed practices, provide suicide safer care, and foster a supportive and welcoming environment that promotes racial and health equity. QMHPs operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with diverse community members. Interventions and services can be both office and community based and may require the use of a personal automobile.

Individuals served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD.

Staff members in this position are working under the supervision of a clinically licensed professional who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of all assessments, diagnoses, and treatment. At this level, clinical assignments may be of moderate complexity and are handled with considerable independence, and complicated cases receive closer clinical review and supervision.

Services provided may include individual, family and/or group skills training using evidence-based interventions, crisis assessment, and case management.

Work is performed under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education
  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. Master's degree preferred.
License
  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Experience
  • Bilingual preferred.
Hours and Compensation

Full-Time. Workdays:
Tuesday - Saturday. Workhours: 2:00pm - 10:00pm.

Salary: $24.18- $25.39 an hour based on education, plus an additional 18% crisis stipend. Position is eligible for shift differential pay.

  • Second Shift: $3.25/hour.
  • Third Shift: $7.25/hour.
  • Weekend Shift: $8.00/hour.
