Texas Neuro Rehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60 years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.
Today, Texas Neuro Rehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas Neuro Rehab Center is currently accepting applicants for a Respiratory Therapist - PRN
. This candidate will administer all modes of Respiratory Care including ventilator management, routine therapy, diagnostic testing and electrocardiography. Additional responsibilities include equipment maintenance/processing, infection control, and safety as well as assistance with Cardiopulmonary Emergency procedures and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), when needed, and other duties as assigned. Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times and adhere to the strict practice of service excellence.

The following are the job requirements for the Respiratory Therapist position.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of long‑term respiratory care including ventilator skills, airway management, ACLS, as well as standard modalities of Respiratory Therapy. Must have good verbal communication and writing skill. Able to achieve AHA‑ACLS certification within six months of employment.
EDUCATION. High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Certification and/or Registry Program in Respiratory care or equivalent requirements which qualify him/her for the "grandfather clause" of the Texas Respiratory Act.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued by the State of Texas as a Respiratory Therapist. Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Three years as an RCP preferred, with at least one year in an Acute Care Hospital setting.
PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to perform the essential work functions described in this job description. Able to lift/lower 50 pounds. Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Able to use a computer and/or write for extended periods of time. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions.
Able to communicate in writing and verbally. Regular and expected attendance. Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per TNC policy. Able to make rapid decisions in stressful situations and perform all duties and functions described herein.
