Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Certified Obstetric Surgical Technologist at HCA Healthcare, you’ll be a valued part of a highly collaborative team that is passionate about delivering newborns safely and with the highest standards of care, while honoring each professional’s skills and expertise in obstetrics and surgery. You’ll prepare the surgical suite, support the team during procedures, and ensure every patient receives compassionate care.

With access to training and mentorship, predictable scheduling with on‑call support, and clear pathways for growth, you’ll have the tools and environment to follow your passion for obstetric surgery while improving the lives of families every day.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
  • Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
  • Providing instruments, equipment, and hands‑on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
  • Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
  • Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient‑centered care and a seamless surgical experience
Qualifications

Experience:

Previous experience in an applicable field – preferred.

Education
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technology or completed appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the U.S. or in the US Public Health Service
  • If not meeting the aforementioned requirements: was employed to practice Surgical Technology in a health care facility before 9/1/09.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Surgical Technologists that graduate after September 1, 2009 must hold and maintain a current certification as a Surgical Technologist within 180 days from the date of graduation. The…
