Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will administer respiratory care to patients by the attending physician. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy.
You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanically ventilated patients
You will administer and monitor respiratory care treatments
You will record pertinent information in patient’s medical record
You will perform noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests and monitoring
You will perform cleaning, preventative maintenance and calibration of respiratory care equipment as required
You will function as respiratory care protocol assessor
Job Qualifications
Experience
- Acute care hospital experience – preferred
Education
- Graduate of approved Respiratory Certification Program
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of Texas
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David’s Health Care policy
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David’s Health Care policy – required within 90 days of hire
