Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will administer respiratory care to patients by the attending physician. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy.

  • You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanically ventilated patients

  • You will administer and monitor respiratory care treatments

  • You will record pertinent information in patient’s medical record

  • You will perform noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests and monitoring

  • You will perform cleaning, preventative maintenance and calibration of respiratory care equipment as required

  • You will function as respiratory care protocol assessor

Job Qualifications

Experience

  • Acute care hospital experience – preferred

Education

  • Graduate of approved Respiratory Certification Program

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)

  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of Texas

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David’s Health Care policy

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David’s Health Care policy – required within 90 days of hire
