Registered Respiratory Therapist PRN

St. David’s Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide high‑quality, patient‑centered respiratory care. This position is available in Round Rock, TX (and potentially nearby locations such as Austin). Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure; conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate respiratory therapy needs and responses.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies: oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers; intervene appropriately in response to unintended events.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator‑dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or certified Respiratory Therapist (RCP) in the relevant state.
  • Associate, Bachelor’s, or higher degree in respiratory therapy or related field.
